Victorian 19th Century St Bernard Dog Reverse Painted Bevel Edge Oak Wood Mirror

A charming reverse painted mirror featuring a St Bernard and a horseshoe with a bunch of flowers in an oak frame with gilt border.

Produced towards the end of the 19th century, presumably unique and created in order to commemorate a well-loved pet. 

Makes a great change to the typical purely floral themed reverse painted mirrors.

Frame: 60 x 44.75 cm - Mirror: 44.5 x 29 cm

In good overall condition with some light wear to frame and faint marks to mirror along with speckles of tarnish to the plate - all commensurate with its age and use.
