A stunning piece full of history, this tinned copper cauldron featuring engraved fish and crucifixes along with decorative bands represents an item that is both Ottoman and Greek in origin.

This cauldron / pot is a mixture of Ottoman design with Greek Christian Orthodoxy detailing, as the Ottomans ruled Greece from 1371–1912. The inscription in Greek states: 'P.KARGIAI BORN IN 1724' - which gives us the latest possible date for the item.

This piece serves as a great talking point and lesson in history as it represents differing cultures and traditions yet is a sole item.

With dotted motif on the underside and a stamp which is also present on the handle.

In fantastic condition with some light surface wear commensurate with its age.
