An exquisite pair of English 18th century Caughley porcelain vases decorated in the chinoiserie style.
Produced c.1780 in Shropshire in a very rare shape featuring unorthodox spiral necks.. I have been unsuccessful in finding another example demonstrating such a technique.
One in blue whilst the other is black with a slight variation in their patterns.
The black variant has a repair to its neck but besides this they are otherwise in great condition for their age.
Height: 15 cm - Length: 6 cm - Across base: 4 cm
Vases by Caughley are seldom seen.. a pair produced with remarkable spiralled necks is exceptionally rare.
