A finely crafted early 19th century teak wood and iron saddle seat with brass panel detailing used to ride camels in the Dhar desert in India.
Designed to be placed over a thick blanket on the camels back allowing two people to ride comfortably.
Saddles of a similar design were used by Napoleon`s Dromedary Regiment during his Egyptian campaigns between 1798 and 1801.
Teak frame and ironwork in a nicely aged condition with just some minor wear to brass detailing.
