19th Century French Cobalt & Bronze Ormolu Mounted Ceramic Griffin Vase

A superb mid to late 19th century cobalt blue ceramic vase with black glaze and raised gilt detailing featuring a griffin surrounded by foliage décor.

Fantastic ormolu mounts which compliment the gilt detailing of the vase well.

Incised diamond mark and indistinguishable wording to the base.. to me its style with the cobalt ceramic and ormolu mounts causes me to think it is of French origin, however I cant find anything else quite like this with the griffin design.

In good condition overall, one small chip to the inside of the rim which is hidden by the rim mount and a few small scratches here or there to the body.
