19th Century Cold Painted Spelter French Bull Dog Inkwell Collar Novelty Antique

This unusual 19th century cold painted spelter inkwell depicts a charming French bulldog who still retains their original chain collar which are often lost.

Complete with insert and the hinge works well. Likely French but possibly Victorian.

With loss of paint as seen in the pictures, the right ear has a bit of splitting around where it moulds onto the head but has not detached and is sturdy.
