A 19th century Victorian Aesthetic movement Bretby ceramic art pottery jug in the manner of Christopher Dresser. Produced during a period when Dresser was one of the most important designers and design theorists of his time and was very influential in the field of ceramics, supplying designs to numerous manufacturers. This jug is either heavily influenced by his work or is indeed one of his designs.

Executed in a fantastic two-tone green and yellow glaze with a lovely form. Bretby rising sun / sunburst mark on the underside with no model number and 3 stilt marks.

Fairly small, ideal for contents such as oil or a sprig of flowers. In great condition with crazing and one tiny crack to the rim from where the handle is attached - most likely from production.

Height: 13 cm - Base diameter: 6 cm - Max diameter (Approx): 9.5 cm
