Rare Pair of Antique Victorian Sweetheart Pin Cushions - Military Boer War/WW1

A pair of Victorian sweetheart heart shaped corduroy pin cushions decorated with glass beads, sequins, and lace.

"With Love" sewn with beads around their edges, and I think dating to the Second Boer War due to their style and material, but could date to WW1.

Sweetheart cushions were made by British Soldiers during war whilst in hospital. It was a form of therapy to help with their recovery from their injuries and to send as tokens to their loved ones.. Very rare to find a matching pair.

Each measures approximately 5 inches excluding the hanging cord.

Mounted and ready to be hung in an effective make-do display case.
