A Doulton Burslem Spanish Ware dish produced in the early 1900s.

'Spanish Ware' was developed by John Slater and although it was considered a new and unusual decoration for the time, it remained popular from the early 1880's into the early 1900's. Spanish Ware has been described by Desmond Eyles in his book The Doulton Burslem Wares as "featuring exceedingly fine raised gold outline traceries of flowers, leaves, arabesques and other motifs, combined with on-glaze enamel painting and raised paste, often on a vellum or ivory ground".

With makers mark signifying the grant of the Royal Warrant by King Edward VII which lasted from 1902 until 1922.

In great condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
