An original 20th century oil painting on canvas by Danish artist Carl Joseph Schwenn (1888-1973)

Depicting a dynamic landscape scene of a windmill amongst trees and bushes.

Carl Schwenn studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen from 1908-12 and then lived for a few years in France. He taught for many years at the Academy of Fine Arts in perspective construction and published textbooks on the subject. Schwenn was primarily a landscape painter and he especially looked for subjects in the areas around Tibirke and Tisvilde, where views of fields towards a high horizon, scattered stands of trees and forest paths were the starting point for a large part of his pictures.
