Japanese hand painted Imari porcelain decorated with underglaze blue and intricate overglazed enamels in rusts and gold leaf.

Unusual form of Imari decoration with panels of sea shells surrounded by flowers and what appears to be some form of wing.

I believe to be an early to mid 19th century / late Edo piece.. but Japanese Imari ware is difficult to date precisely.


In great condition with no chips or cracks but does have wear to gilt through age.

Height: 8" / 20.3 cm - Base Diameter: 6.5" / 16 cm - Body Diameter: 10.25" / 26 cm.
