19th Century Half Coco De Mer Seychelles Nut Seed Shell Copper Bowl Dish Antique

A fabulous 19th century bowl made from half of a Coco de Mer seed ornately decorated with a copper metalwork band and four bun feet.

Perhaps at one time used as a begging bowl like many examples however it is unusual to find one with ornate metalwork and feet like this. Possibly of Indian origin due to the style of the copper band but I cannot be certain.

In fantastic condition with light wear and patination to copper.
